Terms and Conditions
General Terms:
By hiring from Ocean Rentals, you are accepting and consenting to the following terms and conditions. Ocean Rentals reserves the right to change these terms and conditions (T&C’s) from time to time at its sole discretion.
Key Terms:
‘Ocean Rentals’ - (‘We’, 'Us', ‘Our’) defines Ocean Rentals as owned and operated by Tarryn Stanley
‘Customer’ - (‘You, ‘Your’, ‘Client’, ‘Hirer’) defines the person that enters the rental agreement with Ocean Rentals
‘Garment’ - (‘Outfit’, ‘Item’, ‘Clothing’) refers to any and all clothing and accessories hire from Ocean Rentals.
‘Rental Period’: the agreed period of time that the garment is hired by the customer ‘Rental return date’: the date the garment is to be lodged at an Australia Post outlet or the date the garment is expected back at Ocean Rentals ‘Price’: the cost of hiring a garment from Ocean Rentals
‘RRP’: The recommended retail price of the garment as determined by Ocean Rentals
Payment Terms:
The ‘Hire Fee’ will be the amount stipulated in your hire agreement. By entering into a hire agreement to hire a garment, you authorise Ocean Rentals to charge your nominated payment method your hire fee.
Cleared payment of the full hire fee must be received prior to either collection or postage of the garment/s.
Refunds & Cancellations
Ocean Rentals Boutique does not offer refunds for sizing errors, change of mind, or cancelled events within 7 days of the hire date. Once you pay for an item it is unable to be booked by other customers.
A full refund will be provided if cancellation is made before 7 days of the hire date.
Our items are carefully inspected prior to delivery. Customers acknowledge they are wearing second-hand items that have been worn by other people, therefore some wear and tear is expected. We do not provide refunds for garments with normal wear and tear. It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect the garment/s after it has been collected or received via post. If faults are deemed minor and in line with what is expected with a hire item, the customer continues with the hire. If the garment/s is unwearable then the customer is eligible for a full refund. The definition of minor and major fault is at the discretion of Ocean Rentals.
Ocean Rentals reserves the right to cancel a booking at any time.
Should a garment/s become unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control (product damage/late returns) a full refund will be issued. A refund will not be issued if garment/s does not arrive on time due to Australia post. We do not take responsibility for orders that are sent to incorrect addresses. If you provide the incorrect details you will not be eligible for a refund.
Hire Agreement Periods:
Ocean Rentals offers 4 and 6 day hire periods.
For in-person hire the period commences on the day of the garment collection, and the period includes weekends and public holidays. For example, for a 4 day hire; a dress hired on Friday at 1pm must be returned by the following Tuesday at 1pm.
For a garment due to be returned on a weekend or public holiday there is a drop-off point available at the store. For garments hired via this website, it is the customer’s responsibility to place the garment/s in the supplied express post bag and deliver to an Australia Post location within the hire period.
Damage Policy:
If you receive an item of clothing that you deem to be damaged, please advise us within 24 hours of receiving it. Any period after this, the damage will be your responsibility.
Please treat our garments with care. Be mindful of fake tan, make-up and anything else that may cause damage to the garment/s. You must not alter or make any additions to the garment/s. If the garment is found to be damaged (including but not limited to stains and tears) upon return the customer will be invoiced for cost of repair/alterations. In the event that the garment is severely damaged and needs to be repaired, any refunds caused by the repair time will be payable by the customer along with the repair cost, which will be decided by the dry cleaner and/or seamstress. If the item is damaged beyond repair, you will be charged either the RRP + 120% to cover loss of potential bookings or the full amount of all refunds to any client bookings for that specific item +120%. The garment/s is and will remain at all times the property of Ocean Rentals.
If the garment/s is lost or stolen the customer will be charged full RRP of the garment/s.
The customer is the only one to wear the garment/s.
Postage & Local Pickup:
We post Australia-wide and offer pick-up in-store for the Bellarine area. For garments hired via the website, collection times are by arrangement and subject to the availability of Ocean Rentals staff.
Failure to attend at the pre-arranged collection time may mean cancellation of your hire agreement and a cancellation fee incurred.
We use Australia Post Express shipping which is expected to arrive between 1-3 days of posting. Cost of shipping is $15 which includes a return express post satchel.
Customers will be sent a tracking number once garment/s is sent.
Cleaning:
Please do not clean your dress. A standard cleaning fee is included in the hire price. We understand accidents happen, however please notify of any damages to items during the hire period with photo evidence.
Returns & Late Fees
Our hire periods are 4 and 6 days unless otherwise discussed with Ocean Rentals.
Your online hire will arrive with a postage paid satchel with details pre-filled. Please place your dress carefully into this satchel once you are finished with your dress and lodge at the nearest Australia Post office. If you lose the return satchel it is your responsibility to return to item via trackable express Australia Post.
If your hire period ends on a public holiday or weekend, please ensure that your item is lodged at a post office by 4pm the next business day.
All in-store hires are to be returned to our store by 5pm on the last day of your hire period.
